Global Strategic Research Associates did not start in a boardroom. It started with a question: What if research could actually change things?

Too often, good research sits on shelves. Reports gather dust. Data does not reach the people who need it most. We saw this happening again and again and decided to do something different.

GSRA was founded by a group of researchers, policy advisors, and development practitioners who had spent years working across Africa and beyond. We had seen what happens when policy is built on assumptions instead of evidence. We had watched organisations struggle because they did not have the correct information at the right time. Furthermore, we had felt the frustration of producing brilliant analysis that never quite made it into the hands of decision-makers.

So we built something new. A research organisation that does not just study problems. We help solve them. One that bridges the gap between insight and action. One that believes rigorous analysis and real-world impact are not opposites; they are partners.

Since our founding, we have worked with governments shaping national policy, NGOs designing programs in hard-to-reach communities, and private sector leaders navigating uncertain markets. What connects all this work is simple: we care deeply about getting it right, and we care just as much about making sure it matters.
